Once you have that set, you need to figure out how you can break that trip up into smaller goals that are manageable. This is really critical for you psychologically, in terms of staying on track. If you want to lose a total of 50 pounds, for example, this can seem almost impossible. However, if you break that down to increments of 5 pounds each, every time you lose one more increment, you can see you have made progress. This in turn will motivate you to continue.</p>
